A major new study, ‘England’s Major Roads – A Long Term Vision’, has been launched this week. This important new initiative, commissioned by the Fund, seeks to map out what could be the shape, scale and characteristics of the major road network by 2040.This ambitious study is being led by David Quarmby, an influential and highly respected figure in the transport world.
The Fund’s Chairman David Hutchinson said, ‘We are delighted to support this venture and will oversee and review its progress at key stages throughout the duration of the project. It provides a real challenge for all concerned, but the prospect of developing a vision through to 2040 is a really exciting one’
